I have been painting landscapes for most of the last 3 years and while I find landscapes satisfying, I do not know where this is going. Lately, i have been experimenting with putting more abstractions into the paintings. I have also tried using big blocks of color to define areas of the paintings, rather than paint the details. As with all new steps, some of these experiments were successful and some were not, but I think it is important to keep pushing at the boundaries of what makes the painting work for me.  The reactions from others have been mixed. No suprise there.
