What' New this Summer:

VMRC Eighth Annual Juried Art Exhibition: This show is at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, 1501 Virginia Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA 22802. This is a very fine show in a beautiful setting.    Entries were received from over 30 states and the quality of the artwork is very high. This is the second time that I have made it into this show and I feel very fortunate to been selected. I have one piece in this show and you can visit and see the artwork anytime between now and the end of the closing on June 30.

Lancaster County Art Association: The LCAA National Juried Exhibition runs from 12 June through 21 July. I have one painting in this show which is located at 149 Precision Ave, Strasburg, PA 17579.   If you have not been there, Strasburg is a small town just Southeast of Lancaster. This is the first time I have gotten into this show and I am really pleased to be exhibitiing in Pennsylvania.

Touchstone Gallery: Touchstone moved from 7th Street to a new location last August. The new address is 901 New York Avenue, NW, Washington D.C. 20001. To celebrate their first year in the new space, they are offering 37 area artists the opportunity for "mini solo show."   each artist gets a space 4'wide and 10' tall. They will be hung salon style, which typically means frame to frame, floor to ceiling. I am going to be one of the artists. I have submitted 9 paintings, but I am not sure how many will actually be hung. The exhibition dates are from 4 August through 27 August. The opening reception is Friday 5 August from 6-8:30pm. Information on hours, etc is available at their website, www.touchstonegallery.com.
